TeMO

TeMo is constructed primarily from Lego Technic blocks and features five servo motors, an arm , a microcontroller( with its cellphone) the creature's handset runs a webserver that can be accessed from anywhere so it can be given commands from anywhere.

Microsoft offers to buy Yahoo for $44.6 bn

One of the biggest news of 2008. IT giant Microsoft Corporation on Friday announced that it was planning to acquire all the outstanding shares of Yahoo! common stock for per share consideration of $31 representing a total equity value of approximately $44.6 billion.

The offer, contained in a letter to Yahoo's board, is 62% above Yahoo's closing share price on Thursday. Yahoo cut its revenue forecasts earlier this week and said it would have to spend an additional $300m this year trying to revive the company.

It has been struggling in recent years to compete with Google, which has also been a competitor to Microsoft.

Windows 7 Sneak peak

Keeping up with the tradition of staying ahead in technology, Microsoft has already started working on next version of Windows which is now confirmed with the availability of leaked screen shots

"Windows7" definitely looks like Vista, it will surely shape up and have a look of its own by the time its released. Most important point to be noted here is that Windows7 will surely be built on WPF and will have "Windows Live" services tightly integrated in it.

With Microsoft Surface Technology announced, Windows7 will surely incorporate a large part of functionality for Touch Technology, which means that it will surely change the way we work and look at computers.

The first known build of Windows 7 was identified as a "Milestone 1 (M1) code drop" according to reports sent to TG Daily and has a version number of 6.1.6519.1 according to various reports. It was sent to key Microsoft partners by January 2008

Garmin Nuvifone

Garmin has annouced that they are now serious about a GSM phone. Garmin is a GPS navigation company


The Nuvifone, The phone is a GSM phone with a GPS reciever built in which will compliment the web browser along with media functions.It will be an iPhone competitor and it will come with a 3.5 inch screen. All the functinality is provided through the touch screen . Expect a music and video player that will play formats such as MPEG4 too.
Web browser will have something special on its side; HSDPA which is a lot faster than the iPhone’s EDGE but the iPhone will probably get 3G soon anyway.It is expected to launch in Quarter 3 later this year.
